This week, we learned that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/4\/18\/17254388\/jeff-bezos-amazon-prime-100-million-subscribers-announcement\">Amazon Prime has over 100 million subscribers<\/a> and that <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2018\/04\/apple-may-debut-its-own-news-subscription-service-within-the-next-year\/\">Apple may be planning to launch a news subscription service<\/a> soon. Category creation is about setting the price. Setting the price is important because price point determines your ACV, and your ACV leads to your valuation. If you\u2019re in an existing market, your ACV is already set.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When you look back at major success stories in SaaS such as Salesforce, nearly all of them are category creators. They didn&#8217;t join an existing market with a slightly differentiated value proposition.
