{"id":1776,"date":"2015-08-19T15:07:37","date_gmt":"2015-08-19T13:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chartmogul.com\/?p=1776"},"modified":"2025-03-06T14:46:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-06T13:46:47","slug":"announcing-chartmogul-v2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chartmogul.com\/blog\/announcing-chartmogul-v2\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing ChartMogul v2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This upgrade&nbsp;has been rolled out to all users earlier today. &nbsp;It&#8217;s worth noting that your data, and&nbsp;how we calculate your metrics hasn&#8217;t been changed by these updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New features and enhancements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"s2\">All new user experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span class=\"s2\">UI has been completely redesigned and rebuilt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clearer layout: navigation is on the left, segmentation along the\u00a0top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collapsible side panel gives you almost the entire screen to explore your data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A beautiful new Overview&nbsp;screen that&#8217;s fully customizable<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Decide what graphs and metrics\u00a0are important for your business, add them to your Overview and then arrange things using drag and drop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enhanced Cohorts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New ability to click on the cells in the cohort analysis and\u00a0discover what customer activities are impacting your\u00a0churn and retention numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New admin tool for managing plans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can now hide and show plans, rename them and create groups of plans just way\u00a0easier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And&nbsp;some minor&nbsp;enhancements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The MRR movements graph can now be viewed in weekly intervals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There&#8217;s a new\u00a0&#8216;Annual Run Rate&#8217; graph.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To go along with this release we&#8217;ve also updated\u00a0our website\u00a0and product pages, we hope you like the new look! <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/insider\/2015\/08\/19\/chartmogul-revamps-its-website-and-subscription-analytics-tools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Next Web<\/a> were also kind enough to\u00a0do a nice writeup about\u00a0this release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below I&nbsp;explain some of the&nbsp;thinking behind&nbsp;this update&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p class=\"video-container\"><youtube-video videoid=\"li71nTEq8aY\"><\/youtube-video><\/p>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Video transcript<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We have some really big product updates to announce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Firstly, it\u2019s worth noting that none of these updates are going to affect your data, or how we calculate your metrics in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The biggest thing you&#8217;re going to notice is a completely new UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A couple of months ago we looked at our product roadmap and thought: &#8220;how are we going to fit in all the new features we have planned, the UI just isn\u2019t designed to be extensible&#8221;.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; So we took a step back and thought about what the perfect UI for ChartMogul might look like, taking into consideration what we have now, and where we&#8217;re going to take things in the future.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; What we came up with is a completely new design that&#8217;s really easy to read and gives our team the flexibility to add in all the new things we have planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We&#8217;ve put the segmentation controls along the top, and all the navigation is now on the left hand side &#8211; and it&#8217;s collapsible so you can maximise the available space for exploring your data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We&#8217;ve introduced a beautiful new Overview screen that displays all the most important graphs and metrics in one place.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; And it&#8217;s completely customisable, you can decide what metrics are most important for your business and add those to your Overview screen, and then arrange things using drag and drop, it&#8217;s really cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We\u2019ve also improved cohorts.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; Ever since we released Cohorts back in February, customer&#8217;s have been telling us they want to be able to just click on one of the cells in the cohort analysis and take a look at the underlying data, in the same way you can already do with the charts&#8230;so we&#8217;ve built this feature, and it&#8217;s really useful for investigating what customer activity is impacting your retention numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Finally, the admin tool for managing plans has been completely re-built.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; You can now hide &amp; show plans, rename them and create groups of plans to filter with, just way more easily than before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We hope you love the new features and the new design.
