What you get from your App Store data
ChartMogul reads the subscriber reports from App Store Connect and calculates your subscription metrics from them: MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, and every subscriber's MRR movements. You can segment revenue by plan, country, or cohort, and split subscribers by app.
How it works
Connecting. You generate a Reporter token in App Store Connect under Sales and Trends and add it to ChartMogul. You need the Admin or Finance role in App Store Connect.
History. Apple's subscriber reports cover the most recent 12 months, so that's what the first import brings in.
Staying up to date. ChartMogul checks for new reports about once a day.
What ChartMogul imports
- Sales and refund transactions for iOS auto-renewable subscriptions
- Free trial start dates
- Each app's name, as a tag on its subscribers
Apple's reports don't include names, emails, failed payments, cancellations, or plan changes. ChartMogul infers cancellations and plan changes from the transactions, as described below.
Before you connect
- It covers iOS auto-renewable subscriptions.
- You need the Admin or Finance role in App Store Connect.
- Apple's reports go back 12 months, and the Reporter token expires every 180 days.
- Apple resets a Subscriber ID after 180 days of inactivity, so a returning subscriber can appear as a new customer.
The App Store Connect integration guide explains how ChartMogul infers cancellations and plan changes, and how it handles taxes and Apple's fees.
