How it works
Connecting. You create a live app in the PayPal Developer Dashboard and give ChartMogul its client ID and secret. Then you turn on Instant Payment Notifications (IPN) in PayPal with the URL ChartMogul gives you. You need to be an Admin or Owner in ChartMogul and an admin in PayPal.
History. You download your subscription profile IDs from PayPal as CSV files and upload them to ChartMogul. It then imports the past three years of data for each subscription.
Staying up to date. New PayPal activity reaches ChartMogul with a delay of about three hours.
Once the data is in, you get MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, and every customer's MRR movements, and can segment revenue by plan, country, or cohort.
Before you connect
- It covers PayPal subscriptions, not one-off payment buttons.
- PayPal allows one IPN address per account. If yours is already in use, you'll need to forward notifications to ChartMogul.
