Built by SaaSync, at no cost to you
SaaSync is a ChartMogul partner that connects billing systems to ChartMogul. For Xero, you create a SaaSync account and connect Xero there, and SaaSync sends your data to ChartMogul.
SaaSync includes the Xero integration at no cost when you subscribe to ChartMogul, and on ChartMogul's free plan. If you need custom sync logic, SaaSync offers it for $100 a month, paid directly to SaaSync. More about SaaSync.
How it works
Xero has invoices but no subscriptions. SaaSync reads your invoices, credit notes, and payments, and works out the subscription behind each invoice line from its product and service period. Anything it can't work out on its own goes to a review queue in SaaSync, where you complete it by hand.
Connecting. SaaSync connects to Xero through a Xero user with at least Standard permissions, and to ChartMogul with a ChartMogul API key that has read and write access.
History. SaaSync imports all your historical data, or only records from a date you choose.
Staying up to date. SaaSync syncs every 30 minutes.
Once your data is in ChartMogul, you get the same reports as any other billing source: MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, and every customer's MRR movements.
What gets imported
- Invoices and credit notes
- Payments
- Receive Money transactions, if you turn them on
- Customers, meaning your Xero contacts that aren't suppliers
Before you connect
- Expect to review some invoices by hand. Xero has no concept of a subscription, so SaaSync works them out from your invoices.
- Following SaaSync's guidance on product names and service period dates means more invoices sync without review.
SaaSync's Xero limitations article explains how cancellations, repeating invoices, and one-off invoices are handled.
Setting it up
- Create a SaaSync account.
- Connect Xero as a source in SaaSync.
- In ChartMogul, create an API key with read and write access.
- In SaaSync, add ChartMogul as the destination with that key.
SaaSync emails you when the first sync is done. SaaSync's Xero guide covers each step, and ChartMogul's Xero article explains what to set up in ChartMogul afterwards.
